-This the town which carries a heavy history over 4,000 years

-According to Omiros’s reference the town of Kyrarissia gave three ships for the Greek campaign against Tria. It was one of the nine towns which all together are framed as Nestora’s ninetown called “Kyparissiedas”. Pausanias referred an old legend which said that Dionisos switched with his stick on the coast and then bubbled up a source. Its name was “Dionisiada” and it is existed in the beach of Ai Lagoudi until our days and is full of water all the year.

-The castle of the town which was built at the prehistoric times and was extended during the tine of Venice and Turkish domination constituted the mark of the inhabitants’ fights against victors who depressed the freedom of our country during the past times.

Kyparissia is built in the foot of  Egaleo mountain at the South Coast of Ionion Sea.

The view of the blue sea is fascinating and the climate of Kyparissia is perfect all the year. In the beginning of 20^th century when Clemanseau was been in the town for the Railway Station’s inauguration said: “In this town I saw the most beautiful sunset of my travels”

Kyparissia has all the comforts of a contemporary city.

The local hospital is found with the clinics: Pathologic, Pediatric, Orthopedic, Gynecological, Cardiological, Urology, Surgical, Radiological, Hematological and Microbiological Laboratory, Dentist and two clinics of High-pressure Therapy. Lastly the hospital is been equipped with a Technical Nephrology Clinic.

Kyparissia has fullness of Medication with twenty doctors: five pathologists, two cardiologists, two pneumonologists, two orthopedics, three pediatricians, one gynecologist, one eye-clinic, one x-ray clinic and two microbiological-biochemical laboratories.

There are six pharmacies and four dental clinics too.The market of the town is full with all the consumer goods. It has two big super markets of “Atlantic” and four other local super markets with local products. It has also four fish shops, nine butcher’s, five bookstores, five bakeries, five greengrocer’s shops, four patisseries and plenty of shops with clothes, shoes and other consumer goods.

In the town there are fifteen wine shops with music a lot of other local smaller wine shops and ouzo-shops near the sea with a variety of fresh fish menu.

The residence in Kyparissia is a specially pleasant experience.

All the beaches have plenty of beauties which can give to the visitors freshness and relaxing . Kyparissia has hotels B and C category. The hotels offer a lot of financial and contemporary comforts with air-conditioned rooms, pools, restaurants and TVs rooms. There is also o well-organized camping and a lot of rooms for rent.
